Frequently asked questions.

What is a pediatric sleep consultant?

A pediatric sleep consultant provides education and guidance to help families establish healthy sleep routines for their babies and young children. At Tiny Yawns, I create customized sleep plans and provide hands-on support to help your family rest easier — without judgment or unrealistic expectations.

What ages do you work with?

I work with families of children from newborn through age five. Each stage brings unique sleep challenges, and I tailor every plan to meet your child’s specific developmental needs.

Do you use “cry it out”?

No, not necessarily. Every family has different comfort levels when it comes to tears. I offer gentle, responsive approaches that align with your parenting style. Together, we’ll choose a method that feels right for you and your little one. Cry it out is a method that is available with assistance and check ins. CIO is usually a last resort for families and is most often not needed.

Is this medical advice?

No — my services are educational and behavioral in nature, not medical. I don’t diagnose or treat medical conditions. Always check with your child’s healthcare provider if you have concerns about reflux, sleep apnea, allergies, or other health issues.

When is the best time to start sleep training?

Good sleep habits can begin early! You can start building healthy foundations as early as the newborn stage, and formal sleep training can begin around 4–6 months, depending on your baby’s development and readiness.

How long will it take to see results?

Every child is different, but most families begin to notice improvement within a few days to a week when following the plan consistently. Some may take longer depending on temperament, environment, or family routines.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes! I serve families in person in the Greater Houston area and virtually across the U.S.. Support is available via phone, video calls, and email, depending on the package you choose.

Can you help with naps or early wakings?

Absolutely. Nap transitions, early mornings, and bedtime battles are all common issues I help families navigate. Your personalized plan will address both daytime and nighttime sleep for consistent, restorative rest.

What if my baby has reflux or other medical issues?

I always recommend that you speak with your pediatrician first. Once your baby has medical clearance, I can help you create a gentle, realistic sleep plan that supports your little one’s comfort and overall health. I can recommend local pediatricians as well as local Chiropractic offices.

What support is included after our consultation?

Depending on your package, you’ll receive follow-up support via email, text, or scheduled check-ins. I’ll guide you step-by-step, answer questions, and celebrate your progress along the way!

Are your services refundable?

Because each sleep plan is customized and begins with preparation and review time, all sales are final once services begin. However, I’m committed to making sure you feel supported every step of the way.
